A DAWN THAT WILL NEVER COME

Posted on 09/16/202308/10/2026 By GO.V No Comments on A DAWN THAT WILL NEVER COME

In a quiet village, where whispers of the past lingered in the misty air, two shadowy figures emerged from the fog, their elongated forms barely discernible against the night sky. The townsfolk, lost to memory…

The village lay enveloped in a shroud of mist, its cobblestone streets winding like serpents through an eerie landscape. Decades had passed since joy had danced down its alleyways, replaced by whispering memories that lingered in the air with each wail of wind. The townsfolk, now little more than forgotten memories… specters of their former selves, existed in shadows, lost to memory as they meandered about their forsaken lost lives.

As the stillness deepened, it became a canvas for the cold fingers of despair, and the village seemed to grieve for its vibrancy long buried. The distant sound of a church bell tolled a slow, mournful note, reverberating through the gloom, a heart’s beat struggling against the encroaching silence.

The emergence of two shadowy figures from the heart of the fog—creatures whose forms twisted and elongated grotesquely, seemingly crafted from sorrow itself. They moved with an unnatural grace, limbs stretching and bending as they traversed the empty lanes of the town, their silhouettes warped and unsettling against the dim light of a fearful moon.

The first figure was a wretched frame draped in tattered rags, resembling a marionette seized by an unseen puppeteer. Its arms extended far beyond human limits, fingers tapering off into jagged points as if carved from blackened glass. Its body bent grotesquely at odd angles, twisting unnaturally as it glided toward a decrepit house on the edge of town—once a home filled with laughter but now standing silent and sorrowful beneath layers of dust and echoes.

The second figure emerged alongside its companion; a sentient shadow cloaked in deeper shades of dusk. Its limbs were limbs of nightmares, spindly joints articulating in ways that defied biology and logic; it mimicked the rhythm of time itself—a reminder that while life pressed on, oblivion loomed near. The village knew this figure well; it was a keeper of memories lost, a sentinel to the anguish buried deep within the soil that cradled forgotten stories.

They danced through the night, a grotesque ballet that left a trail of unease rippling through the air. Each step they took resonated with an unnerving cadence, echoing through town.

The atmosphere grew even darker as droplets of rain began to fall, glistening like tears upon the cobbles—as if the heavens wept for the forsaken village. The sound of their fingers scraping against the cracked pavement sent shivers down tree spines, reminiscent of cloth tearing and wood splintering. In their presence, even silence held its breath.

Their gazes turned— hollow voids where eyes ought to have been; told glimpses of lives unfulfilled and hopes shattered, trapped within their warped forms. In their silent presence dwelled profound sadness, but also an invitation: ‘Come fear us or understand us.’

The figures recoiled slightly, their elongated arms stretching back into darkness as if shielding from truths too harrowing to bear. A deep sorrow echoed between them—needles of desolation piercing through layers of hope as caught whispers rattling like leaves in a tempest.

For an agonizing moment, time hung suspended in thick mist—the tall shadows embodying forgotten pains. And amidst the oppressive gloom of the town, something profound shifted within those figures’ torsos; they had been doomed to wander aimlessly—these were harbingers of sorrow longing for release.

Yet, reality snapped back with brutal clarity—the figures pulled away slowly once again into fog’s embrace. They departed without leaving behind any semblance.

In that silent exchange, beneath a sky tinged with weariness and hopelessness—two ghastly figures had been rendered vulnerable, forging a bond that would reverberate through darkness away from mere shadows; though lost now in time’s relentless march forward, they had transformed into quiet guardians instead.

In a village so painfully divided from joy by melancholic specters, perhaps together they could kindle embers left flickering in dim corners—and reclaim hope from despair one night at a time. As fog swirled around once more, unfolding paths yet uncharted—the night stood grim yet alive with darkness, shadows and a dawn that will never come.
